6年前,谷歌宣布将谷歌中国的搜索服务由中国内地转至香港,这一世界最大的搜索公司,由此消失于中国内地数亿网民的屏幕。这6年间,世界发生了巨大变化,谷歌的市值增至4800亿美元,一度位居全球第一,它的中国同行百度公司,也成长为一个本土巨无霸,年净利润超过50亿美元。
事实越来越有力地证明,中国将成为互联网企业最有潜力的市场,这个市场也是谷歌不可放弃的。谷歌的收入绝大部分来自广告业务,我们不妨来看看这方面的情况——
知名调研机构eMarketer的报告指出,2016年,全球媒介广告投入将从2015年的5780亿美元增长至6150亿美元,其中数字广告投入为1980亿美元。2016年中国媒介广告投入相比2015年将增长14%,数字广告增长28%,高于美国、日本、德国和英国。此外,2016年全球智能手机用户数量将达20亿,其中四分之一来自中国。在智能手机用户增长的驱动下,移动互联网广告投入将在接下来的四年内保持快速增长,至2019年,将达到1955.5亿美元,占总体数字广告投入的70.1%。

很自然地,谷歌开始寻求重返中国市场,如果搜索服务的硬骨头暂时无法啃下,起码可以先从其他一些不那么硬的骨头啃起。于是,人们陆续看到谷歌的官方支持页面上出现“Google Play中国版”字样,谷歌在中国推出“谷歌创业家计划”,在北京、上海等地启动大规模招聘,以及前文提到的Google AdWords体验中心开张。
Google AdWords体验中心项目是谷歌2014年开发的、针对中国企业海外推广的战略性项目,旨在让中国企业利用大数据时代的运营方法,把产品推向国际市场,并进行全球化品牌营销。事实上,深圳不是Google AdWords体验中心在中国的首个落地城市。在此之前,谷歌已经在郑州、贵阳等地开设了8个这样的体验中心。按照谷歌的计划,未来一两年内,还会在中国其他城市增开5~10家。
Google AdWords深圳体验中心是2015年深圳市重点引进项目。作为深圳唯一的谷歌推广体验中心,其负责人任丽峰告诉记者:“中心致力于为深圳品牌走向全球市场提供数字营销专业服务,定期为深圳出口企业提供数字营销、跨境电商相关的免费培训,并孵化有潜力的创新型企业。中心将在深圳市政府的支持下,推进深圳出口企业的升级转型。”
基于中国世界最大货物贸易国家的事实,这显然是一个颇具野心的计划——不管能不能全面“回归”,先把钱赚了再说。石博盟在论坛现场没谈及有关“回归”的话题,他只是强调:“世界一半以上的人口居住在亚洲,一半以上的生意来自亚太地区,而中国处于亚太经济区的中心位置,我们无法忽视中国在经济影响力方面的优势。”他注意到,中国的工程机械、智能设备、网络游戏等产品很受世界欢迎,“我们谷歌有很多工具,可以帮你了解市场及客户,把你的产品卖到世界各地”。这些工具是什么?一言以蔽之,就是互联网和大数据——这些正是谷歌擅长的。
