资金问题已困扰多时
艾迪斯的公开资料极为稀少，工商信息显示，公司注册资本2880万美元，是台港澳法人独资企业。
有招聘网站公开的信息称，艾迪斯的主要经营范围是LCD（液晶显示器）、LCM（液晶显示模块）和FPCB SMT，是一家以产品外销为主的科技企业，目前公司设备及制造技术在国际间同行业处于领先地位，其生产技术水平被主要客户三星电子、Motorola和Nokia鉴定认可。
《每日经济新闻》记者从多位艾迪斯员工处了解到，对于该公司走到这种地步他们早有心里准备，今年6月份开始该公司就已发不出员工工资，但相应的订单和生产却并未有减少，他们也一直在公司正常上班，甚至到8月19日时仍然在进行生产。
对于停产停工，多位员工均表示不知情。不过，在坪山新区工商业联合会在2015年9月发布的一篇文章显示，艾迪斯的停产疑似与资金周转有关，并且相关经营情况已经恶化相当长一段时间。

艾迪斯资金链出现问题的另一个佐证是，艾迪斯此前曾多次将工厂设备进行抵押。工商资料显示，在自2014年05月14日至2014年11月14日期间，艾迪斯将全自动锡膏印刷机等数十台设备以200万元的价格，抵押给了韩中国国产业银行广州分行；而在2016年07月18日至2016年08月30日，艾迪斯以194万元的价格，将一套自动偏光片附贴机抵押给了东莞市成宏防静电产品有限公司。
力争9月5日前发完拖欠工资
目前，艾迪斯的员工正在办理离职证明，从而获得补偿和拿回拖欠的工资。《每日经济新闻》记者从艾迪斯为员工开具的一份离职证明上看到，该员工“2015年3月入职本公司，担任公司BOE生产部员工职位，在2016年8月20日与公司办妥了相关离职手续，其与公司之间的劳动合同关系自动终结（非本人意愿终止）”。
8月24日，艾迪斯承认拖欠员工工资。其当天发布的通告显示，因公司运营困难，致使员工2016年6月半个月、7月、8月工资没有发放。艾迪斯打算尽快处理公司设备以及收回货款从而发放员工工资。
艾迪斯称，从2016年8月20日起没再安排生产，在没有发放员工工资前，公司不再安排生产；在没有确定的公告时间重新组织生产前，员工可先安排重新就业（公司会推荐工厂）。
对于发放员工工资的时间问题，艾迪斯表示，公司会同员工代表，尽快处理公司设备发放员工工资及经济补偿金，力争在2016年9月5日前将拖欠工资及补偿金发放完毕。
通告中，艾迪斯还表示将尽快催回客户货款：8月25日，裕光计划付款45万元，京东方100万元，9月5日，京东方还将计划付款230万元；货款回笼后，将首先用于发放员工工资及补偿金。
不过，在艾迪斯发布的通告中，并未有就此关门的打算，“依据目前的实际情况，公司重新组织生产尚需时日。公司自2016年8月25日起，保留少部分员工上班；留值员工负责公司固定资产安全、处理部分设备、组织恢复生产。”
《每日经济新闻》记者就此致电艾迪斯，试图寻找其负责人了解相关情况，不过其工作人员以不方便为由，挂断了电话。
记者注意到，珠三角地区的液晶显示器企业近年来常有企业停产，艾迪斯并非孤例。2015年，与三星集团同样有业务合作的东莞普光液晶显示有限公司（以下简称东莞普光）因订单减少而停产，引起了外界的广泛关注。不过，当时三星集团相关人士表示，东莞普光停产系其自身原因，与三星无关。
“夸克显示”对此分析认为：“三星的多个液晶显示器供应商已被曝倒闭，同时新型的OLED屏如火如荼地涌来，大有取代液晶之势。同时多个机构、企业认为传统的液晶LCD厂如不转型升级，洗牌是很正常的事情。”
“整体上来说，是因为大环境不好，这个产业正处于衰退期。”IHS Displaysearch研究总监张兵认为，“液晶显示器行业会不会产生一个倒闭潮，主要就是看优胜劣汰。在产业衰退的时候，肯定有部分企业会遭到淘汰，有竞争力的就能活下来。”
目前对于整个液晶显示器行业而言都不乐观。一方面，在小尺寸如手机屏方面，苹果可能在明年使用OLED屏幕，预计将带动整个显示产业向OLED屏上转移；在大尺寸电视方面，韩国企业LG同样正在全球大力推广OLED。
