据悉，本次亲情帮教活动在黑龙江省监狱史上属于首次，既是对服刑人员实行人文关怀的具体体现，也是落实平安龙江建设、创新教育改造工作的有益尝试，更是对服刑人员悔悟社会危害、感悟家庭温暖、感受时代信息，在希望中国和加拿大速改造的有效激励。
活动期间，黑龙江省女子监狱精心准备了精彩节目和丰盛的团圆餐，还特意制作了象征爱情甜蜜的心形蛋糕，每对服刑夫妻爱人依偎、伴侣相拥，诉相思之苦，道祝福心愿。其中，歌曲《和平年代》表达了民警对全体服刑人员积极改造迎新生，携手回归创美好的深深祝福。随后，38对“服刑夫妻”围坐在一起，温馨的活动现场让他们放下了紧张、卸掉了顾虑，通过谈活动感受、谈改造信心，用最朴实的语言表达最真挚的情感。
服刑人员张某告诉中新网记者：“我与爱人已经分开六年了，2110多个日子没有见面，无数个夜里我都曾在梦里与他相见，今天终于让我美梦成真，非常感谢警官们为我们搭建爱情桥梁，今后我们夫妻将会相互勉励，早日回归社会，做一个对国家、对社会有用的人。”
