这名消息人士说，特检组接下来将评估李在镕提供的信息，考虑是否对其申请逮捕令。
三星卷入“亲信干政”事件核心人物崔顺实胁迫大企业向其控制的财团捐款一案。特检组之前怀疑，三星在李在镕指示下向崔顺实提供资金支持，以此换取政府对三星物产和第一毛织两家公司合并的支持。
李在镕是三星电子会长李健熙的独子。上述并购案涉及三星两家子公司，被认为对李在镕稳固三星集团继承权和获取经营权至关重要，也是特检组对于“亲信干政”事件的调查焦点之一。
李在镕2016年12月曾以证人身份在国会举行的“亲信干政”事件听证会上表示，三星从未以捐赠或资助为代价享受特惠。
