在自身重量上，“8”复合材料载客电梯也比传统的钢材料结构的客梯轻上许多。据称“8”的重量只有150 kg，而具有相同载重量的传统钢材料制成的客梯重量却达到了1500 kg。

至于为何取名为“8”，也是有讲究的。首先，该公司将为电梯零件提供8年的保修期。第二，它的安装速度比传统电梯快8倍。第三，它的最大承载量是8位乘客。
