该信息最先在一个社交APP传播，发布者同样是匿名。该信息显示，“今天下午2点，有人在网易内部匿名邮件举报——网易直播中心高级总监庄笑俨，收钱删稿”。匿名举报邮件的照片显示，“据说刚升任，接管科技时尚等部门不到半个月，居然连续两天收钱发稿推位置、删稿，有图有真相”。截图显示，一名微信用户在聊天对话框内表示，“XX是美国一个时尚品牌，这次邀请了XX，想发布这条内容，庄总您看是否可以哒?只需要出现在网易时尚版块就行!客户指定上网易呢，有费用的哈”。在对方回复“时间地点”后，该用户给庄笑俨转账1000元。

第二张微信聊天照片中，信息发送者也给对方转账1000元，并称“谢谢庄总!看到啦”;对方回复“不客气”后，确认收钱。

第三张微信聊天照片中，信息发送者称，“……都是在时尚频道推的，不知道能否帮删除处理呢?咱们释放出善意，明年大秀我会跟客户申请邀您去现场看哦”。之后，信息发送者按照对方要求，将一篇稿件链接及标题发了过去，“您看看哈，能否帮忙删除”。

该信息迅速在多个社交网络平台传播。记者搜索网络公开信息发现，2016年12月底，有媒体公开报道网易内容部大调整的新闻显示，“原网易传媒直播中心高级总监庄笑俨将成为新的直播事业群总经理，向副总编汇报，下面分管总监”。

网易网站上的公开信息显示，庄笑俨曾就职于中央电视台、湖南卫视、重庆卫视、重庆晨报等多家电视机构和平面媒体，担任过副总裁、频道总监、主编、制片人、主持人等多种职务。

1月16日下午18点，记者拨通庄笑俨电话，记者刚说出“你好，是庄先生吗”后，对方直接挂断电话。之后，记者多次拨打均被拒接，其亦未回复记者的采访短信。

网易公关一名负责人对记者表示，公司正在调查此事，有消息会第一时间回复。

公开报道显示，此前曾有多名网站编辑因收钱删帖而获刑。
