2016年8月，中国印钞造币总公司在与英国、法国等国际知名企业的激烈竞争中胜出，获得了印制2亿张尼泊尔1000卢比钞票的订单，此次发货的就是这笔订单中的第一批产品，从订单中标到第一批产品发运，前后只用了5个月时间。
尼泊尔1000卢比是尼泊尔中国中央银行发行的最大面额的钞票，在尼泊尔的金融流通中占有十分重要的地位，这对钞票的防伪技术和票面设计，都提出了相当高的要求。
