世界首颗量子科学实验卫星“墨子号”交付使用

  新华网北京1月18日电今日,中国发射的世界首颗量子科学实验卫星“墨子号”圆满完成了4个月的在轨测试任务,正式交付用户单位使用。中国科学技术大学、中科院微小卫星创新研究院、西安卫星测控中心、中科院国家空间科学中心等单位相关领导在交付使用证书上签字。


  “墨子号”是由中国完全自主研制的世界上第一颗空间量子科学实验卫星,于2016年8月16日发射升空。“墨子号”的主要应用目标是通过卫星和地面站之间的量子密钥分发,实现星地量子保密通信,并通过卫星中转实现可覆盖全球的量子保密通信。“墨子号”可以在千公里外的外太空以10kbps的速率给地面站分发量子密钥,比地面同距离光纤量子通信水平提高了15个数量级以上。该项技术突破不仅使得中国具备了对光纤无法覆盖的地区(如中国的南海诸岛、驻外使领馆、远洋舰艇等)直接提供高安全等级量子通信保障的能力,并为中国未来构建覆盖全球的天地一体化量子保密通信网络提供可靠的技术支撑。


  量子科学实验卫星在轨测试阶段全面完成了卫星平台测试、有效载荷自测试和天地一体化链路测试,卫星平台和有效载荷工作一切正常,成功构建了星地单向、星地双向、地星单向量子信道,系统信道效率、时间同步精度、跟踪瞄准精度均超过系统指标要求,可以满足空间量子科学实验的要求。


  在交付仪式上,量子科学实验卫星工程常务副总师王建宇研究员向与会领导和专家做了卫星在轨测试总结报告,并表示量子卫星已经在世界上首次建立了天地一体化量子通信实验测试平台,具备了开展空间量子科学实验的条件。量子科学实验卫星首席科学家潘建伟院士代表科学研究团队做了量子卫星寿命期工作安排报告。据潘建伟介绍,目前研究团队正在有条不紊地开展相关科学实验工作,已获取了初步的实验数据。研究团队对顺利完成星地量子密钥分发实验、广域量子密钥应用演示实验、星地双向量子纠缠及地星量子隐形传态实验全部预先设定的科学实验任务充满信心。


  2016年底,“墨子号”和人类首次探测到引力波等重大成果共同入选英国《自然》杂志点评的年度国际重大科学事件;“墨子号”作为唯一诞生于美国本土之外的创新技术入选《科学美国人》评选的2016年度“改变世界的十大创新技术”;近日,《华尔街日报》针对中国科技的高速发展给出了标题为“沉寂了一千年,中国誓回发明创新之巅”的专题文章,将“墨子号”量子科学实验卫星作为中国创新能力提升的重要标志。
