  据中国科学院消息,在“十三五”期间,中国将在北京建设一台高性能的高能同步辐射光源,也称为“北京光源”,其设计亮度及相干度均高于世界现有、在建或计划中的光源。未来这一新光源系统装置建成后,将满足中国重大战略需求,并对众多基础科学的研究发挥关键支撑作用。




  同步辐射光源是什么?


  同步辐射光源是指一种利用相对论性电子在磁场中偏转时产生同步辐射的高性能新型强光源。它利用X光可以测量各种物质的原子结构。



  中科院高能物理研究所研究员 董宇辉:


  要看到物质里的细节,很重要一点是要有足够的亮度,比如说,打个手电筒看东西,手电筒越亮,就能看得越清楚。科学上就是这么回事,分辨率和亮度直接相关。


  同步辐射光源有什么用?


  目前,全世界相继已建成50多台同步辐射光源,这些光源能为多学科的创新研究提供支撑。实际上,同步辐射光源还能在医学领域发挥重大作用。比如“上海光源”,借助这双“慧眼”,科学人员可以揭示活体肿瘤和脑血管病的发生和发展机制,为发展重大疾病的早期诊断与治疗提供关键理论基础和技术支撑。


  中科院高能物理研究所研究员 董宇辉:


  我们这个光源主要有两个方面的应用:一个是国家的重大需求,跟国家安全密切相关的重大需求,航天材料。第二个是提供非常高的分辨率,让我们有了解复杂体系、极精细结构的能力,这样就能推动基础科学的进步。


  中国计划建世界最亮同步辐射光源“北京光源”

  同步辐射光源的发展目前已经经历三代。中国的第一代同步辐射光源以“北京正负电子对撞机”为代表,“合肥光源”是中国的第二代同步辐射光源,中国目前已建成的最先进光源是“上海光源”,它属于第三代同步辐射光源。


  为了进一步提高中国国家安全和工业核心创新能力,“北京光源”为代表的“第四代同步辐射光源”的建设计划被提上议事日程。它的各项关键性能指标将远高于第三代同步辐射光源。

  根据我们目前的设计方案,它建成以后将比美国已经刚刚建成的NSLS-II要亮70倍,比瑞典刚刚建成还没有投入运行的MAXIV要亮10倍。


  据悉,中国新一代高能同步辐射光源项目“北京光源”的建设已列入中国国家发展改革委员会发布的国家重大科技基础设施建设“十三五”规划,它也是中科院与北京市共建怀柔科学城的核心。“北京光源”项目预计2018年11月份开工,工期历时约6年,计划耗资48亿元。
