另外,日本人认为,吃荞麦面也可以避免把今年的辛劳与不幸带到下一年。

韩国:年糕汤

年糕汤是韩国的日常饮食菜色,但是在过新年时吃年糕汤,代表自己又成长了一岁,也象征新的一年团圆美好。

韩国不同地方有不同的吃年糕汤方法,韩国中部和北部地区会加入以鸡肉、绿豆芽、泡菜做馅的饺子,南部则加肉块。新年除准备丰盛料理,较传统的家庭还会制作与八宝饭类似的甜饭,用糯米混合枣泥、松子、蜂蜜与栗子粉制做而成,祈求家中人丁兴旺,合家甜蜜。

西班牙:葡萄

西班牙的贺年食物是葡萄,这个有趣的习俗起源于1905年,当年西班牙东南部阿利坎特的葡萄园大丰收,市场供过于求;葡萄园主人为了寻找销路,于是策划了新年吃12颗葡萄祈福的营销计划。

波兰:鲱鱼

波兰人在新年的时候会吃带有银色鳞片的鲱鱼,因为银色鳞片象征银币,闪闪发亮,在新年吃鲱鱼象征新的一年里将会财源滚滚。
