不少市民都有一个疑问，动物园安全措施都很到位的，虎山隔离有条河，这个人是怎么进去的呢？
有目击者爆料称，该男子是为了逃票翻山进入老虎园。
进入虎园原因，目前有三个猜测版本：
1、有小孩掉下去，男子下去救人；
2、 男子自己不小心跌落；
3、男子翻墙逃票。
目前上述三种说法，均是互联网上的猜测，并未得到官方证实。
据现场目击者郑先生告诉记者，事发约在14：30左右，雅戈尔动物园内当天人非常多，停车位都没有了。他刚好路过老虎园，这里是一个类似半岛的园子，背靠一片丛林，朝游客有大约一层楼高的围栏，还有条河隔开，正常情况下老虎是伤不到游客的。
目击者吴小姐告诉记者，动物园有投食项目，游客可以自己买肉，喂给老虎狮子。另有目击者看到，有游客在扔鸡架。
据吴小姐说，正常情况下，游客如果跌落，是不会直接掉进老虎区域的，只能掉进河里。但受袭男子的衣服看起来是干的。
出事后约5分钟，工作人员赶到现场，一开始用鞭炮、水枪轰赶，但效果不明显。之后特勤、特警赶到。
据了解，宁波雅戈尔动物园前身是宁波东钱湖野生动物园，位于东钱湖旅游度假区内，占地1900多亩，院内动物有200多个品种近万头动物，是中国水域面积最大的野生动物园。
