陈·扎克伯格生物中心是扎克伯格夫妇投入6亿美元建立的非营利性医疗研究机构，成员主要来自加州大学旧金山分校、斯坦福大学和加州大学伯克利分校的工程师和研究人员，其使命是攻克世界上的各种疾病。
此次，陈·扎克伯格生物中心在700份申请表中挑选出第一批47位研究人员，在未来5年内，这些研究人员每人最高可获得150万美元的资金支持，以完成其项目研究。
