在互联网兴起前,中国漫画行业的内容渠道以传统漫画杂志为主,随着互联网时代的到来,用户逐渐从线下向线上迁徙,推动了互联网漫画平台的发展。数据显示,近年来中国互联网漫画用户规模一直保持着增长趋势,从2013年的2257.6万人到2015年的4014.6万人,再到2016年的7074.7万人,今年则有望达到近亿人,实现9725.3万人的规模。

随着市场的发展,互联网漫画也逐步从过去免费阅读的时期进入付费阶段。其中有妖气从2010年开始尝试漫画付费,目前平台上大约有500部付费漫画,付费规模已超过千万元;而腾讯动漫现阶段则是有约1700部付费漫画,同时会要求部分作品在连载一定时间后转向收费,付费形式与价格会根据实际情况进行调整;此外,在掌阅平台上,大约有1500部付费漫画,付费作品的比例超过70%。

通过观察可以发现,由于与传统漫画杂志因受到版面限制不同,互联网漫画平台可容纳更多作品,题材类型也更加多样,满足不同用户需求。且选择互联网漫画的用户相较传统漫画更加广泛,覆盖高中生、大学生和上班族。而这些用户也正是逐步培养出付费意愿并有一定消费能力的人群,从而为付费漫画的市场打下一定基础。且在有妖气上可以发现,2016年有妖气旗下的付费用户超过50万人,在活跃用户中占据不到1/3的比例,这从某些方面也代表着付费漫画市场仍存在着增长空间。

在业内人士看来,互联网漫画尝试付费模式,不仅能让相关平台和漫画公司获得一定现金流,使其更好地提升自己的服务、作品内容质量等方面,同时对于作者而言也是一种激励,从而实现市场的良性循环。但与此同时也能发现,由于盗版的存在,也对漫画付费模式的试水造成阻碍,需要进一步进行把控。

除此以外,现阶段优质互联网漫画内容仍较为稀缺,成为漫画进入付费阶段的短板,毕竟优质作品才是读者愿意付费的关键。对此,北京市社科院文化研究中心副主任沈望舒认为,优质内容是文化产业发展的核心,需要有优质的内容作品来推动产业实现良性发展,激发更大的内容价值。
