这3000部手机型号均不同，既然有这么多，那么80年代的“大哥大”、90年代的诺基亚以及现在的苹果手机都在其中也就不稀奇了。据悉李清林这个爱好从自己1998年6月拥有了第一部手机摩托罗拉开始，18年间，他花费近20万购买了很多经典机型。他说，手机是不同时期买来的，前期资金不太充裕的时候，买得相对少一些，最近5年随着收入增长，买的比较多，有些上世纪90年代的手机都是这个时期用很便宜的价格买下来的，有时一次能买几部到十几部不等。
手机的发展在一定程度上代表了科技的发展，李清林说，希望自己能够将所有手机型号都收集齐全，未来可能的话要开一个手机博物馆，让未来的年轻人能够看到并了解手机从模拟到4G时代的变革，通过手机见证科技时代的社会变迁史。
