应该说,无论是建造广州工厂还是竞购东芝芯片业务,都是富士康向三星电子运营模式靠拢所实施的部分举措。众所周知,三星是一家消费电子品牌,但它同时也为自己和其他公司生产关键零部件。作为传统代工厂商,富士康在去年已经成功收购了夏普,这使得公司获得了首个重要消费者品牌,而在广东新建平板面板厂则是向“三星模式”迈出重要一步。

“我们看到了广东政府的办事效率,也看到了广东官员的领导力和推进能力。”郭台铭说道。

他还表示,如果美国政府也想争取到这样的建厂项目必须提供税收优惠、制定工人培训计划,并着手研究、学习中国政府的作法。

“我们的感觉是,如果任何美国州政府想要吸引富士康到当地建厂,他们都应该来这里(指广州)学习和研究,尤其应该来看看我们是如何在这里用这么短的时间内做成这么多事情的。”

应该说,平板面板制造厂是美国政府非常重视的一个项目,因为这类工厂的生产流程高度自动化,同时可以创造出比iPhone组装工厂收入更高的就业岗位。

对此,富士康副董事长雅各布-陈(Jacob Chen)在动工仪式上表示,未来广州工厂生产的高清平板面板将主要用于夏普的大尺寸电视产品。中国是夏普目前的最大电视市场,而且自富士康去年11月在中国展开营销攻势后,夏普的电视销量增长了足足七倍。

收购夏普是富士康首次试图成为一家品牌公司,而不仅仅是一家供应厂商所展开的大胆尝试。雅各布-陈表示,自收购夏普后,富士康已经与中国两大视频服务提供商优酷土豆和爱奇艺达成了智能电视合作协议,同时还在与腾讯控股磋商新的合作事宜。

雅各布-陈预计,夏普两个月前上市的最新智能电视产品销量在3月底将达到100万台左右。而且,富士康今年还将在中国开设“数百家”全新门店。

然而,依然有部分分析师质疑富士康是否能单单依靠夏普产品创造出足够的面板需求,以消化其广州工厂的巨大产能。

在另一方面,尽管中国是目前富士康的最主要制造基地,但是郭台铭表示,如果自己找到了更为节省成本的制造基地就会考虑将产线迁出中国。其中,最明显的例子就是富士康在去年收购了为诺基亚生产手机的越南工厂。

“一个同事曾问我,我们是否应该将越南工厂迁至中国。而我对他提出的第一个问题就是,哪边的成本更低?”郭台铭最后说道。

显而易见的是,越南成本会更低一些,所以该产线会继续留在那里。
