据主办该案的张警官介绍：今年1月初，台湾的陈某维通过网络联系，结识了广西的廖某海和濮阳的马某修。陈某维提出，想在春节前与二人合伙做笔“大买卖”。他出资让马、廖二人购置了改装过的pos机、银行卡、半导体小喇叭、米油等物品，然后让马、廖雇人到不同的地方进行诈骗。二人随后雇用了淮阳的王某丹，许诺其每天工资200元，补贴200元，卖出一袋米或一壶油再提成5元。1月7日至13日，王某丹带着自己的亲戚，先后到新乡、郑州市航空港区、新密市等地进行“促销”。
按照马、廖二人的指示，王某丹在刷卡时，第一次先把银行卡插进pos机中再拔出来，然后再插进去刷一次。这一举动并未引起顾客怀疑，但第一次插卡时，他们的银行卡号和密码已被盗取，第二次才是刷钱付款。仅在新密，就有40多人银行卡上的钱被刷走，金额高达80余万元。
