初衷

想把学生从手机旁拉回讲台

董立功穿龙袍上课,有人夸赞他用心对待教学,有人认为他有哗众取宠之嫌,而他自己把这次授课定义为“思政课教学改革的一次尝试”。

“老师在台上滔滔不绝,学生在下面昏昏欲睡,这样的知识传授没有意义。”董立功从去年秋季到集大任教之初,就注意到课堂上许多学生身在曹营心在汉。他认为,学生不听课,一定是老师出了问题。于是,他给自己出了一个考题:如何把学生从睡梦中和手机上拉回到讲台?

在不少人的刻板印象中,思想政治课大多是照本宣科。而在董立功看来,包括中国近代史纲要在内的思政课程很重要,能够给予学生正确的价值观引导。

为此,董立功做了许多尝试。他从学生的需求入手,想找到“学生喜欢什么样的思政课”,去年秋季,他通过问卷形式调查了五六百个学生,结果排在第一位的是“看视频”。于是他投其所好,结合每节课的内容,播放相关主题的电影,但时间久了,学生感到视觉疲劳,又“回归”了手机屏幕。于是他又使出了第二、三招:建立qq群与学生实时互动问答,在微博进行互动问答,但效果都有限。

突破

以清帝自白切入大历史事件

转折点出现在今年寒假。董立功备课时萌生了一个想法:第一堂课是鸦片战争,可以以道光皇帝的自述,展现其从出生到当皇帝,以及怎么对待林则徐、看待鸦片战争的一系列内心活动,即从小处切入,讲述鸦片战争的大历史。

董立功第一时间把这个想法告诉了妻子,妻子投了反对票:“你这是哗众取宠呢!”董立功不死心,又向思政部领导请命,领导同意了,并支持其向市社科联申报“历史情景剧教学法在思想政治理论课教学中的时效性研究”的课题,获批了经费。有了经费,董立功便购置了龙袍等道具。

“今天我要以道光皇帝的身份,讲述大清的衰败史。”3月7日,董立功穿着平常的衣服走进教室,学生们一如既往地呈懒洋洋状,而当他宣布自己的设想,并第一次穿上龙袍、戴上皇冠,学生们的眼睛一下亮了,整整一堂课都没人玩手机,董立功收获了任教以来难得的掌声。

对此,记者抛出一个问题:这次尝试是否会跟之前一样,学生新鲜劲过了就失效呢?董立功说,思政课还是以内容为主,“我如果每周都穿龙袍讲课,那不真成了哗众取宠吗?”董立功介绍,他已经写好了剧本,接下来会让学生穿上清代服装,扮演洋务运动中的曾国藩和李鸿章、“戊戌变法”中的康有为和梁启超,让他们在演戏中了解历史。这样的表演作业一学期有三次,分数占期末总成绩的40%。

“我总是喜欢唱反调”

1980年出生的董立功,本硕博都就读于厦大历史系。在许多人看来,他喜欢写时评,是一个想法大胆犀利、善于创新的人。他自己也坦承:“我总是喜欢唱反调。”

他曾在博客上发表一篇名为《拍照点名不是治理大学生逃课的灵丹妙药》的时评,他认为学生不听课,可能是老师的教学方法出了问题;2012年9月,他和另一位厦大教授接受本报记者采访时,他们一反“方便面是日本人安藤百福发明”的论断,提出上世纪20年代厦门就生产出了方便面;今年2月14日,他还发表文章,认为连江祭海古坛所祀之神不是妈祖,而是南海神;他甚至指出了《辞海》的两处错误。

这大概是一种“职业病”。“我喜欢从别人的对立面思考问题。”董立功说,学历史的人都习惯考证,从文献里挖掘真相,而提出新观点,相比印证旧观点更有意义。
