  科技日报3月9日消息,记者近日从中国科学院获悉,中国自主研发的“海翼”号深海滑翔机,在马里亚纳海沟完成了大深度下潜观测任务并安全回收,其最大下潜深度为6329米,刷新了水下滑翔机最大下潜深度的世界纪录,为中国深渊科考提供了新的科考手段。


  水下滑翔机是一种通过调节自身浮力和姿态以实现在水中滑行并收集水体信息的新型水下机器人。这种新型的水下机器人具有低功耗高静音的特点,可以对特定海域进行高精度大范围的水体观测,能够有效提高海洋环境的空间和时间测量密度,是现有水下观测手段的有效补充。


  “海翼”号水下滑翔机是根据中科院B类战略先导专项的部署,由中科院沈阳自动化所研制的、具有完全自主知识产权的新型水下观测平台。从原理样机的研发到深渊观测任务的圆满完成经历了13个年头,包含浅海、深海、深渊等不同型号的水下滑翔机20余台。此次“海翼”号在马里亚纳海沟共完成了12次下潜工作,累计工作87个小时48分钟,总航程超过134.6公里,其最大下潜深度达到了6329米,是目前世界上安全下潜深度最大的水下滑翔机。在执行观测任务中,“海翼”号收集了大量高分辨率的深渊区域水体信息,为海洋科学家研究该区域的水文特性提供了宝贵的资料。


  据介绍,“海翼”号水下滑翔机是今年1月15日搭乘“探索一号”科学考察船从三亚起航的。中科院深渊科考队成员是按照中科院“海斗深渊前沿科技问题研究与攻关”项目、国家重点研发计划“深海关键技术及装备”重点专项的任务部署,开赴马里亚纳海沟、雅浦海沟执行深渊科学考察和装备试验任务的。
