布局智能装备
在3月4日格力的智能装备首发会上，董事长董明珠表示，格力仅用四年时间，现在就可以做工业机器人、自动化生产线、精密机床，格力跟国际上会有协同合作，她希望这种合作不是“仰视”而是“平视”。
根据2016年半年报，公司开始智能装备的全面规划布局，根据产业分布现状，公司选择珠海、武汉、杭州、成都四地作为格力智能装备的主要研发或生产基地。
现智能装备产品已覆盖了伺服机械手、工业机器人、智能仓储设备、智能检测、换热器专用机床设备、无人自动化生产线体、数控机床等多个领域。
据了解，格力已自主研发超100种自动化产品，格力智能装备也应用到电器、新能源、食品、节能等多个领域。

望靖东告诉记者，智能制造将会作为格力的新增长点。“现在这块占比还不大，这是一个厚积薄发的过程，要先把产品做好推广，得到市场的认可。”
据了解，未来格力电器将紧密围绕“机器人”和“精密机床”两大领域进行研究，在完成格力自身制造系统转型升级的同时，为“中国制造2025”提供一批完全自主研发的高端装备。
在望靖东看来，企业提供有质量、有核心技术的产品，则是实现供给侧改革的表现。经济面临产能过剩，所以供给侧改革首先要在技术和质量上进行提升。产品要有消费者喜欢，才能实现供给侧改革，这背后意味着，要依靠创新、核心技术、企业的价值观。
