飞行员自主培养体系日趋完善
作为中国的第一艘航空母舰，从2012年9月正式交接入列到此次成编队出岛链跨海区训练和试验，辽宁舰仅用了短短4年时间。4年里，官兵们出色完成了上百 项科研试验和歼-15舰载战斗机着舰起飞等训练课目，并连续取得重大突破，辽宁舰也由最初的训练试验舰一步步成为了一艘具备作战能力的水面舰艇。
几年来，海军舰载战斗机飞行员自主培养体系日趋完善，一批批飞行员面对困难锐意进取，挫折面前勇于攀登，地面苦练、空中精飞，在较短的时间内实现了从一名 普通飞行员向航母舰载机战斗员的成功跨越。作为中国首艘航母，辽宁舰也在探索中不断前行，他们首先完成辽宁舰单舰的管理保障建设，又摸索出了与编队属舰的 协调作战指挥模式和协同程序。
编队以屏卫队形通过宫古海峡
从渤海、黄海到东海，航母编队边航行边训练，探索合成化、体系化、实战化的组训方法，开展了全要素的舰机融合和航母编队协同指挥训练。航渡途中，航母编队 还组织了海上补给训练。2016年12月25日清晨，辽宁舰编队驶入宫古海峡。宫古海峡又称宫古水道，是一条连接中国近海与西太平洋的重要海上航道。
