马云在演讲中给大家描绘了两幅画像，一幅是营养不良的人，一幅是知识文化营养不良的人。“今天中国已经强大，不再被称之为东亚病夫，但是如果知识结构不良，智慧不良，整个文化体系不良，其实是很可怕的，这被称之为网络病夫。”
马云表示，也许未来二十年，网络会把很多问题公开化，扩大化，这也把我们这个民族在过去几十年下来，知识、文化的不平衡和缺陷所造成的东西出现的越来越多。我们要对这些知识文化营养不良的人重新补充营养。
马云强调，因为我们的教育方法、教育体系训练的是工业时代，所以教和育是两回事，教是知识，育是培养文化，希望大家多去思考，我们国家在教育改革上面对未来的大数据、云计算时代。大家讲改革开放，中国促进改革开放的红利就是来自于知识就是力量，邓小平恢复高考，让有知识的人先富起来，这个其实很关键。未来的三十年，什么是我们这个国家、这个时代所需要的，我们今天就要对孩子们进行重新培养。
马云称，这是自己的思考，也是希望带给大家的话题。
