当晚11时30分，汕头市公安局潮南分局官方微博“平安潮南”对外通报：4月8日18时许，在潮南区峡山街道广发路工商银行一柜员机发生一宗抢劫杀人案件（致二人死亡）。现汕头市、潮南区二级公安机关正在全力组织侦查。
4月9日中午1时08分，潮南警方再次通过“平安潮南”微博通报：在省公安厅和汕尾警方的大力支持下，4月8日晚在潮南区峡山街道持刀抢劫杀人的犯罪嫌疑人梁某豹（男，33岁，陆丰市人）已于4月9日上午在陆丰市甲子镇被汕头、潮南公安机关追捕民警抓获。
