昨日，为了纪念这位捍卫中国历史的女作家，在淮安市淮阴区古淮河北岸，占地面积3.6万平方米，布展面积约1000平方米的张纯如纪念馆正式对外开放。江苏省在其官方推特上也发布了这一消息。
张纯如，捍卫历史的勇者
张纯如是出生在新泽西的第二代美国华裔，从小立志成为一名优秀的记者，先后在伊利诺伊大学和约翰霍普金斯大学学习新闻写作。1995年开始成为自由撰人，为《芝加哥论坛报》、《纽约时报》和美联社撰写稿件。

于是在1995年的冬天，张纯如在国家档案馆和华盛顿国会图书馆完成了《南京大屠杀：被遗忘的二战浩劫》一书的初步资料准备，并特地前往北京、上海、杭州进行为期六星期的深入调查。为了撰写《南京暴行》，纯如收集了中文、日文、德文和英文的大量资料，以及从未出版的日记、笔记、信函、政府报告的原始材料，她甚至查阅了东京战犯审判记录稿，也通过书信联系日本的二战老兵。
经过了大量的调查取证之后，1997年，《南京大屠杀》一书在北美地区出版，首次以英文书籍形式向西方揭露这段历史。

但令人遗憾的是，由于长期遭受抑郁症的折磨，2014年11月9日，张纯如在自己的车中开枪自杀，结束了自己的生命。

历史不会被篡改
尽管在世界范围内，《南京大屠杀》一书的出版引起了巨大的反响，然而日本在面对这段历史时，却仍然在试图去掩盖和扭曲。
目前，日本初中和高中普遍采用的7种历史教科书，虽然都涉及南京大屠杀，但表述暧昧搪塞，认识参差不齐。例如，日本育鹏社出版的《新日本历史》在正文中简单提到日军占领南京，但在注解中写道：“这个时候，由于日军导致中国军民出现了很多的死伤者（南京事件）。对于这一事件牺牲者人数的实际情况，有着各种各样的见解，现在仍在持续争论。”

无独有偶，前不久发生的日本APA酒店事件，也是日本右翼企图篡改南京大屠杀的一个铁证。在日本APA连锁酒店房间中，都放置了否认南京大屠杀及慰安妇存在的书籍，而该书作者竟是APA酒店CEO元谷外志雄。

然而理性的人们却并没有被蒙上双眼，4月7日，中国南京在其官方Twitter上发布了张纯如纪念馆落成的消息，令许多国外的网友，开始重新关注南京大屠杀，关注这段不可被否认的历史。
