中新网长春4月18日电  (记者 李彦国)中国第33次南极科学考察队昆仑站党支部书记、吉林大学副教授张楠18日在长春向媒体介绍,中国科考队在南极冰盖最高点区域突破了800米钻探大关并获取深冰芯,这个成果距离科学推演地球气候变化规律、趋势又迈近了一步。
  当日,中国第33次南极科学考察吉林大学科考队举行媒体见面会,这支队伍主要参与南极昆仑站Dome A地区(又称“冰穹A”,系南极冰盖最高点)深冰芯钻探科学任务。
  张楠介绍,中国是世界上第一个在南极冰盖最高点区域进行深冰芯钻探工程的国家。“可以说,每向下钻进1米都是一个新的突破。”
  自1984年首次南极科考算起,中国已经进入南极科考33年,在南极大陆上相继建成长城站、中山站、泰山站、昆仑站四个站点,跻身南极科考大国之列。
  南极昆仑站Dome A地区被认为是地球上自然条件下最寒冷的地方,也是世界公认的钻取南极深冰芯最理想的地点,在那里可以取得超过100万年的古老冰芯。
  目前,中国有在南极Dome A地区打3000米深冰芯钻孔的长期计划。“那里相当于是地球的一个时间容器,可以推演地球的气候变化规律和趋势。”张楠说。
  在低气压、低氧、高海拔的南极Dome A地区,吉林大学组建的科考力量自中国第28次南极科学考察开始,参与了所有的现场深冰芯钻探工程。
  “今年最大的任务就是把以前的一班制、两班制,逐渐地变成三班制。”张楠说,这样可以全天24小时无休的工作,提高工作效率。
  在不断总结经验的基础上,今年南极科考队员在南极Dome A地区成功突破800米大关。“600米到800米是国际上公认的比较难钻进的区域,今年我们也是在撤离昆仑站的最后一天才突破这个深度,为后面的工作奠定了基础。”张楠介绍。
  据了解,刚刚返回中国的科考队员在短暂修整之后便要继续投入新的工作中。“我们后面还有很多工作要做,比如培养新人、培养队伍、建立起一个完善的科考机制,这都是迫在眉睫的问题。”张楠说。
