  4月15日8时39分,1986版《西游记》总导演杨洁因病在北京去世,享年88岁。据悉,目前杨洁的家人正在低调处理后事。杨洁本人曾在受访时回忆,拍摄《西游记》 就像漫漫取经路,“我们也是经历九九八十一难,才能够取到真经!”


  戏曲导演接拍《西游记》


  1929年,杨洁出生在湖北,父亲是革命烈士杨伯恺。她从小就爱好文艺,喜欢小说、戏剧、电影,熟读名著,甚至背熟了《红楼梦》中的《葬花词》等诗词。


  杨洁的艺术道路始于播音,1958年进入中央电视台后,她成了戏曲节目导演,以外景拍摄的电视手段制作了不少电视戏曲节目,如京剧《香罗帕》、湘剧《追鱼》等。


  1979年,杨洁还与邓在军导演执导了严格意义上的央视的第一台春节联欢晚会。


  可以说,杨洁见证了中国电视从黑白到彩色,从舞台直播到加工成电视艺术片的诸多过程。


  但对杨洁来说,拍电视剧一直是她的一个梦想。上世纪80年代初,电视剧还是新生事物,她曾数度主动请缨,但都被拒绝,连处女作《崂山道士》也一度不被认可。


  没想到,1981年11月,拍摄电视剧《西游记》 的任务从天而降。“杨洁,要是让你把《西游记》拍成电视剧,你敢不敢接?”听到领导安排的这个任务,杨洁几乎不敢相信自己的耳朵,她脱口而出:“有钱就敢,为什么不敢?”


  这一句话,开启了杨洁与《西游记》 之间长达几十年的深深羁绊。


  拍摄“忠于原著慎于翻新”


  从1982年启动拍摄,到1986年在央视首播,电视剧《西游记》的制作,对杨洁而言,同样是经历了“九九八十一难”。当时,日本和中国台湾地区已拍出了《西游记》,但在杨洁看来,这些版本虽然特效惊奇,内容实在不堪,甚至出现了唐僧想和妖怪结婚、猪八戒跳大神等情节。于是,她和其他两个编剧确定改编一定要“忠于原著,慎于翻新”,将原著中最精彩的部分拍成一个个故事,连续而又独立。


  但由于技术和资金有限,更大的困难还在后头。当时,剧组一穷二白,所有的镜头都由一台老式摄像机完成,而在没有移动轨道、升降机等设备的情况下,所有的角度变化都要靠人工控制。于是,拍马追兔子的场面,摄影师、技术组、监视器甚至导演都必须跟着兔子一起跑;拍孙悟空被紧箍咒搞得天旋地转的场面,六小龄童在地上打转,摄影师就由几个人扛在梯子上,在空中边打转边拍摄……


  但就是在这样的条件下,1986版《西游记》却拍出了名山大川的壮丽,拍出了天宫的仙气袅袅,也拍出了孙悟空腾云驾雾的风采。杨洁后来回忆说,整个过程虽然艰苦,但自己就是想要实现完美的效果,“我们是用汗水去弥补这种缺憾,用生命来作赌注啊!”


  敢为全剧艺术质量负责


  《西游记》拍摄期间,曾遭遇不少非议,杨洁都一一挺了过来。其中,电视剧音乐一度遭专家批评,认为主题曲用了西方的电声,不够民族化,《敢问路在何方》的通俗唱法又太抒情。对此,杨洁力排众议,“我是导演,对全剧的艺术质量负责,领导起用我,是相信我能拍好这部戏!现在既然由我负责,就请不要干预。”


  而在拍到14集《大战红孩儿》时,剧组遭遇资金困难,央视不愿再投资,要求杨洁拍个结尾收官即可。为此,杨洁亲自外出找资金,历经了一次次失望与痛苦。后来,在“蜈蚣精”扮演者李鸿昌的帮助下,《西游记》 得到了追加的300万元投资,砍去5集,最终拍到了25集,“物价涨了,东西贵了,只有大家的片酬没涨,仍是每集最高90元,最低30元……”


  70岁时,杨洁坚持拍完了当年落下的5集。2000年,《西游记》 续篇登上荧屏,尽管口碑并不如前作,杨洁却说:“我画了个句号。”杨洁曾表示,电视剧《西游记》能够成功,是因为全组人都是为了“搞艺术”而去的,“我们没有为钱,没有为名,没有为利。”而《西游记》也是她电视剧生命的全部,“我搞电视剧的时间不长,只有18年,以《西游记》始,以《西游记》终,我感觉太短了,我还没过瘾,但是做不了了。”
