雷军的慈善之路可以追溯到1997年。雷军1991年毕业于武汉大学，6年后的1997年就向母校捐赠了14万元，设立了“腾飞奖学金”，后来又设立了“雷军计算机奖学金”以及“雷军奖学金”。此后，雷军多次向母校捐款，最近一次是去年的10月20日，雷军捐资9999万9999元帮助母校建设预计占地面积达3.5万平方米的科技楼。
