According to Fortune, and information on LinkedIn, Google and Apple recently hired a former Nest executive co-Yoky Matsuoka, the founder of x. While working in a Nest, Matsuoka served as technical director. According to the report, Matsuoka has joined Apple health team, this team is responsible for ResearchKit, HealthKit and CareKit. Matsuoka will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams. Williams is responsible for all of Apple's health projects.

Matsuoka joined Apple in 2009 to help companies create Google x-lab, and left in 2010 Google and add Alphabet subsidiary Nest, as technical director. Coincidence is that Nest co-founder Matt Rogers was Matsuoka's classmates at Carnegie Mellon University.

Matsuoka left the Nest in 2015, when she was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. But the treatment has been successful, Matsuoka said he got a second chance. Matsuoka holds a Ph.D degree at MIT, she developed a revolutionary robotic arm at MIT BarrettHand. While at the University of Washington, she participated in the research and development of robot systems.
